Objectives

As an engineering recruitment, I have often been given roles that are particularly challenging to fill, especially in a candidate short market. In some cases, other recruiters have given up on these roles, citing a lack of available talent or an inability to find the right fit for the position.

However, I am always up for a challenge, and I believe that there is a candidate out there for every role. So when I was recently given a particularly difficult role to fill, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work

Solution

The role in question was for a senior engineering position with a leading manufacturing company. The company had been searching for the right candidate for months, and other recruiters had been unable to find a suitable match.

I knew that this was going to be a tough assignment, but I was up for the challenge. I started by reaching out to my network of contacts, searching for anyone who might know of a candidate who would be a good fit for the role. I also searched through job boards and LinkedIn, looking for potential candidates who might be interested in the position.

After several weeks of searching, I still had not found the right candidate. But I refused to give up. Instead, I decided to try a different approach: headhunting.

I started by researching companies that were similar to my client’s, looking for candidates who had the right combination of skills and experience. I reached out to these candidates directly, presenting them with the opportunity and highlighting the unique benefits of working with my client.

This approach proved to be successful, and after several more weeks of searching, I finally found the perfect candidate for the role. They had the right combination of technical expertise and leadership skills, and they were excited about the opportunity to work with my client.

Throughout this entire process, I kept communication with the client high, providing regular updates on my progress and discussing potential strategies for finding the right candidate. And even when the search was particularly challenging, I remained tenacious and committed to finding the right fit for the role.

Overall

Thanks to my persistence and dedication, my client was able to fill this difficult role with a highly qualified and talented candidate. And as a result of my successful recruitment efforts, my client has continued to work with me on other hiring projects, knowing that I am willing to put in the time and effort necessary to find the best possible candidates for their needs.
