Objectives

As an engineering manufacturing recruiter, I was recently tasked with filling urgent job openings for a CNC machinist, welder, fabricator, and design engineer. The reason for the urgency was that my client had just won a big project and needed to quickly assemble a team to work on it.

Given the high stakes and tight timeline, I knew I had to work quickly and efficiently. I started by reaching out to my network of contacts and advertising the job openings on various job boards and social media platforms.

Solution

Within a few days, I received several promising resumes for each position. I carefully screened each candidate, looking for the right combination of skills, experience, and attitude that would make them a good fit for my client’s needs.

  • For the CNC machinist position, I found a candidate who had extensive experience in both manual and CNC machining. They had worked on a variety of projects and had the technical expertise and attention to detail needed for the job.
  • For the welder position, I found a candidate with a background in MIG, TIG, and stick welding, as well as experience working with a variety of metals. They were able to provide examples of previous projects they had worked on that showcased their skills.
  • For the fabricator position, I found a candidate who had experience in both welding and fabrication, as well as experience working with a variety of materials. They had a strong work ethic and were eager to take on a new challenge.
  • And for the design engineer position, I found a candidate who had experience in both mechanical and electrical design, as well as experience using CAD software. They were able to provide examples of previous projects they had worked on that showcased their skills and creativity.

Once I had identified the top candidates for each position, I worked closely with my client to schedule interviews and negotiate offers. Within a matter of weeks, all four positions had been filled with highly qualified candidates.

Overall

Thanks to my quick work and careful selection process, my client was able to assemble a talented and dedicated team that was able to complete their big project on time and on budget. And as a result of my successful recruitment efforts, my client was so impressed that they have continued to work with me on other hiring projects.
