Working in the UK: Start with the Official Guidance
If you are looking for work in the UK and are unsure what permission you need, start with the official guidance rather than assumptions based on where you live or which passport you hold.
Use GOV.UK’s visa checker to explore the relevant requirements. The Skilled Worker guidance explains that particular sponsored route; it is not the only possible route to working in the UK.
The register of licensed sponsors identifies licensed organisations. It does not tell you that every listed business is hiring or will sponsor your application. Check the vacancy and ask about its requirements.
Be accurate about your current permission and whether you would need sponsorship. Employers must check the right to undertake the work; that is different from guessing someone’s status from their nationality.
Thomas Lee Recruitment is a recruitment business, not an immigration adviser. For advice on your own circumstances, use GOV.UK’s guide to finding an appropriately regulated adviser. Immigration rules change, so check the official information when you need it.
