Profile
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer based in Worcestershire with 30+ years’ experience within heavy engineering, mining equipment and large fabricated machinery environments. Time-served apprentice with strong background in 3D mechanical design, technical drawings, layout creation and full project lifecycle support using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault and SAP MRP systems. Experienced in design reviews, DFMEA, cost/value analysis, BOM creation and cross-functional engineering support, including customer-facing technical meetings, factory acceptance testing and overseas site support. Strong background improving product reliability, manufacturability and cost efficiency within complex engineering environments.
Has worked extensively across fabrication, machining, assembly and production environments, giving a strong practical understanding of how designs translate onto the shop floor. Comfortable working closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams and customers to ensure equipment performance, compliance and operational reliability. Additional experience includes mentoring junior engineers, delivering engineering systems/software training and supporting continuous improvement activities across engineering functions. Looking to bring long-term experience, practical engineering knowledge and a steady hands-on approach into a new challenge within mechanical design, manufacturing or bespoke machinery sectors.
